Test (QA) engineer software

You are responsible for creating and managing automated tests for core software functions.

In January 2023, we merged with the platform organization Invenna. This merger has led to growth within our organization, and our ambitions for further development of our software technology stack are bigger than ever. As a result, we are currently seeking a test (QA) engineer to devise, write, and maintain both existing and new tests. This position will be hybrid, with some work at our office in Arnhem and the option to work from our office in Nieuwegein.

What you’re going to do

The Human Inference software solution consists of various in-house developed components. Our complete development stack includes Java, C++, Angular, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. For testing, we use Cypress and the Selenium framework. Clients utilize the software for advanced data quality and Master Data Management (MDM) applications.

Your responsibility will be to create and maintain automated tests using RestAssured and SoapUI. These tests will focus on key software functions such as data cleaning, data quality, data matching, and data management. Essentially, your role is crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our solutions, along with the great team you'll be working with.

You are

You should be skilled in software solutions and IT with a strong interest in data. You should have at least an HBO+ level of education, work experience, and familiarity with software development and test automation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing test frameworks to enhance the efficiency and reliability of test processes. You must be well-versed in test plans, sprint artifacts, and integration/regression testing of web applications and web APIs. Additional experience in developing unit/integration tests in Java and understanding tools and frameworks for on-premises and cloud releases of our software would be a plus.

Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are essential qualities for this role. Proficiency in Dutch and English is necessary, and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment would be advantageous.

Your profile

  • Extensive work experience spanning several years.
  • HBO+ level of thinking and working.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to various internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written Dutch, with an excellent command of the English language.
  • Proficiency in automated testing using RestAssured and SoapUI, and familiarity with software development.
  • Knowledge of test strategies, sprint artifacts, and integration/regression testing.
  • Preferred prior experience in unit/integration testing in Java.
  • And experience with tools and frameworks for on-premise and cloud releases of software.
